OVERVIEW

Join me for an unforgettable day exploring the Argentine side of Iguaçu Falls. Both the Brazilian and Argentine sides of the falls are beautiful, so I recommend visiting both from bottom to top. However, the best view of the Devil’s Throat, the largest waterfall of them all, is from the Argentine side. You’ll stand face to face with the Garganta del Diablo, the Devil’s Throat, at a breathtaking height of approximately 90 meters down to the lower river. With all the walking trails, you have a total of 8.7 km, where you can always see new and beautiful views of this natural spectacle. After experiencing the waterfalls, a picnic awaits you at the tri-border area with a view. The picnic basket varies, with 1 bottle of wine, either Malbec or Chardonnay, or 1 liter of fruit juice + 1 liter of mineral water, 4 Argentine empanadas, and 1 tropical fruit salad.

What to Expect

Iguaçu National Park is located in northern Argentina and protects the portion of Iguaçu Falls on the Argentine side, as well as adjacent areas of the Atlantic Forest. It was founded in 1934 and covers a total area of 677 square kilometers.

Duration: 5 hours
Entrance: Not Included

Other Information

  • Confirmation: Received at the time of booking
  • Accessibility:
    • Wheelchair accessible
    • Stroller accessible
    • Close to public transportation
    • Baby seats available
    • Wheelchair accessible transport

Traveler Requirements: Must have reasonable physical fitness

Tips:

  • Arrival: Try to be there a few minutes before the park opens. Morning temperatures are more pleasant for those not accustomed to the subtropical climate. The park opens at 08:00 local time and closes at 16:00. Therefore, I always recommend leaving early to avoid traffic jams.
  • Animal Interaction: Please note that no animals can be fed or touched!
  • Tickets: After redeeming the tickets, you will reach the central train station after a few hundred meters. A train, powered by a natural gas locomotive with open carriages, departs every 15 minutes to the various walking trails (three in total). Since the maximum speed is 7 km/h, it is great for taking photos and making videos while riding, or simply enjoying the breathtaking nature with its unique flora and fauna.

Trails:

  • Devil’s Throat and Upper Trail: Suitable even for those who walk with assistance or use a wheelchair, as the walkways are built flat along the upper course of the Iguaçu River.
  • Lower Trail: About 180 steps, thus requiring a bit more physical strength. Light shoes with non-slip soles are recommended for the walks.

Tour Style: Note that my tours are not marathons but are designed to give clients enough time to absorb everything so they can enjoy it fully.

Currency: If you are not planning a longer trip to Argentina, I advise against exchanging too much money as the Argentine peso has lost a lot of value and is not accepted everywhere in Brazil.

Facilities: Restrooms, toilets, bars, bistros, and restaurants can be found at almost every station.

Tour Type: This tour/activity is private. Only your group will participate.
